Associate veterinarian Dr. Mark Buvinghausen graduated from Texas A&M University in 2003 with a bachelor’s degree in Biomedical Sciences and doctorate of Veterinary Medicine in 2008 with magnum cum laude honors. He was activated in many student interest clubs and honor societies throughout school with special interest in the emergency medicine/critical care field. His interest in veterinary medicine began in grade school where he was an active participant in the local 4H program for many years. During high school, he was a member of the FFA where he raised and showed many different species of animals. He worked as a veterinary technician for seven years prior to entering vet school. Upon graduation in 2008, Dr. Buvinghausen moved to Colorado Springs, Colorado where he practiced emergency and critical care medicine for two years. In 2010, he moved back home to Katy and has been practicing small animal medicine in the Richmond area since. When he’s not working, he enjoys spending time with his wife Jessica, two sons, Cayden and Will, and the family chocolate lab, Rilynn. He is also an avid outdoorsman as well as a wildlife and habitat conservationist.
